Episode IX Cast News

Official news from Lucasfilm dropped today about the cast of Episode IX!  So of course, as a Star Wars podcaster, I am obliged to comment upon this breaking story.  So, here ya go, here are my initial thoughts and opinions. Enjoy!

Acting! (The OT Edition)

As you know, the actors in Star Wars are just that... Actors!  And while we love them in their Star Wars roles, they have also played other great parts in other great films.  In today's episode, I take a look at the main actors from the Original Trilogy, and share my favorite performances of theirs, from other films. -- Check back later in the week when I cover the Prequels, Sequels and Stand-Alone Films.

2018: The Star Wars Year Ahead

So, what can we expect from our favorite franchise in the year ahead?  Well, here are five predictions I have for 2018.  Be warned, these are made with tongue firmly planted in cheek, so if any of these actually come true, I’ll eat a Porg!  Enjoy!

2017: The Star Wars Year In Review

Less Than 12 Parsecs is not a news podcast.  Sure, we cover the big headlines when everyone is talking about them, and I occasionally recap the top headlines of the week that grabbed my attention, but by no means is this a Star Wars news podcast.

That said, with the year winding down, today I am looking back the last 12 months and recapping what I think were the biggest stories in Star Wars this year.  And all in 5 minutes or so!

The Greatest Of All Time!

Over the weekend, I read a fun debate on Twitter.  People where trying to decide who was the greatest pilot in all of Star Wars.  I really enjoyed the discussion, and it gave me a lot to think about.  So, today, after much thought, I've decided who I think is the best pilot in the galaxy.  Please take 5 minutes to hear my conclusion!

Gut Reaction: Star Wars Rebels: Season 4, Episode 9 "Rebel Assault"

As you know, I'm not much of a reviewer, but that said, from time to time, I like to give you my "Gut Reaction" about something new in the world of Star Wars.  So, here is are my thoughts on the mid-season finale of Star Wars Rebels that aired last night, as well as some opinions about the season as a whole so far this year, and where I think it may go next.  Be warned, there are spoilers ahead, so do not listen to this until after you've watched the episode!  Enjoy!

Breaking News: Ron Howard Hired!

Wow, the news just continues to break!  In a follow up to yesterday's big story, of Lord and Miller being fired from the Han Solo solo movie, today we learn that Ron Howard has been hired by Lucasfilm to finish the job!

What do do I think Ron Howard will bring to the table?  Well, here's five minutes where I look back at his directorial resume and try to make some guesses.  Enjoy!

Breaking News: Lord & Miller Fired!

As you probably know by now, it was announced yesterday that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of the Han Solo solo movie, were let go by Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm.  Well, as a Star Wars Podcaster, I am obligated to give you my opinion on this matter.  Here are a few minutes of what I, someone who knows very little about the movie making industry and the inner workings of Lucasfilm, thinks about all of this.  ;-)

Is It Me, Or Is It The Movie?

So, I had a "Star Wars problem" today, for lack of a better phrase.  I really can't explain it without spoiling the point of today's episode, so please, just take 5 minutes to have a listen!  Thank you.

Why ATOC?

I often tell people that Episode II: Attack of the Clones is my favorite of the Star Wars prequels, and they will look at me funny and say "Really?  Why?".  Well, today, I try to explain myself.  And I do so unscripted, (I didn't have time to write a script for today's episode) so I'm not sure if my reasoning come across as clears as it could have.  If you have questions or need clarification on any of these points, please just let me know!

International Women's Day

In honor of the fact that today is International Women's Day, I take a look at what makes the women of Star Wars so great.  I am thankful that I grew up with these characters in my imagination, and that they continue to inspire generations of fans!
