Happy Birthday John Williams

John Williams,  The Maestro, the greatest film composer of all time, celebrated his 85th birthday today.   On today's episode, I share some of my memories of his work, and my opinions on the future of the music of Star Wars.     And please, as always, email me with your thoughts and opinions, or connect with me on any of my social media accounts. I'm always interested in what you have to say!

And if you're interested in this sort of thing, the nomination period for the the 2nd Annual Star Wars Podcast Awards is going on between now and February 9th.  I'm not saying you should nominate Less Than12 Parsecs for best new podcast of the year, but... They say it's an honor just to be nominated, and I would like to find out if that's true! Thanks. ---  www.starwarspodcastawards.com

And dont forget, you can win the Kanan-styled sleep mask. Simply post a sleep-themed Star Wars photo on Twitter, use the hashtag #SleepyStarWars and tag both @TwelveParPod and @SWSkyhoppers. What is a sleep-themed photo? Let us see your favorite Star Wars pajamas, or your bed with the Star Wars sheets, blankets and pillows, or maybe it's a photo of you snuggled up with your favorite Star Wars plush toy and bed time story book. Or anything else you can come up with! We will pull a name from random on February 28th! Thanks for playing, and good luck!

This Day In History: The Disney Purchase

I'm getting this episode posted just under the wire... recorded in the morning, published just before Midnight!

On this date, October 30th, four years ago, in the year 2012, Lucasfilm was purchased by Disney for FOUR BILLION DOLLARS!  At that time, fans debated if this would be a good thing or not.  Well, where are we now 1461 days later?

On today's episode, I list the good, and bad, aspect of the Lucasfilm buy out.  Please, have a listen, and tell me if you agree, or if you have any other points to make on this subject.  Thanks!
